Finally some shoes

Funny how life goes on and not every day is a creative venture.  Today I finally started on the shoes.  I'm real happy with how they add to the over all look of my latest Troll.  It helps if you have a good book to listen to.  I just finished listening to Anansi Boys.  Getting lost in creating and the story.  Hopefully it won't be long now that she'll be done.

Oh' almost forgot.  The shoes are made from a t-shirt scrap.  Then painted with Sobo glue, which dries clear and gives the shoe a little stiffness.

Ok, so I don't want to jinx myself but these two have co-operated all the way thru.  I'm really happy with how they are turning out.  

Of course I've been trying real hard to stay on task this week.  Which when it's hot out is very hard to do.  

Yesterday I picked the fabrics for the clothing.  I think I must have smiled all day long.

Late yesterday afternoon I called it a day and a good day it was.  So today the plan is to finish these two.  I'm totally in love with them and can't wait to share them at the next ODACA day in Washington, DC.

Another pair off shoes

One can never have enough shoes!  Today I made up another pair of shoes.  These colors are bit more earthy.  I would so wear this pair too.  While making them or I should while putting the sole on......I wondered what other materials you could use to make a sole?!?  So this afternoon I stopped by Menards, checked out there vinyl flooring and got all sorts of "free" samples to use as a sole.  So I guess that means I'll have to make another pair, so I can try the vinyl. 

I forgot to mention, these little shoes measure 3" in length.  

Little Shoes

Today I worked on some shoes, to add to the Little Folk class.  The afternoon was spent drafting a shoe pattern using a paper towel.  I will make some minor changes on the next pair, but I'm real pleased with the results of these little shoes.  They're made of fabric and sealed with Sobo glue.  The glue also give them a little stiffness and I was able to add some worn type wrinkles. ;-)
