I found the perfect Lining fabric

I my stash of fabrics I found the perfect lining.  So I jumped the gun.  Putting in the Lining before pockets and belt loops.  Oh' well so it goes.  Now I'm contemplating putting in a slash pocket.

Honestly I'm very ready to have this project finished.

The latest of my fabric venture

Every day this week I have made a little more progress on this project.  Rearranging the squares of fabric in a manner, so that they flow.  And every time I add more fabric the flow changes.

All this is done with scraps of fabric that I have saved, for I don't know how many years?!?  I want to turn it into a Bathrobe.  Now I have to decide how or if I want to line it???  Stay tuned

This is our newest member "Archie".  He is quite the character. The other day we found him here.

I'm continuing to work on making fabric.  It's been very cold outside and this has been keeping me busy.

Snowday sewing

Yesterday day I spent quite a few hours sewing scraps of fabric together.  It's been fun to see the progress and how it changes from day to day.

67 days since I started

50 Quilt Blocks in 67 days!  I'm a little behind.  Since the challenge was 100 Quilt Blocks, 100 days!  I may not make it.  When I sew each block, it is just that.  But when they're all laid out, then I get really excited.  Each block measure 6.5" X 6.5".  Not big!!  I will have to make extra and/or decide how I want to put them together.

Still sewing on my quilt

Still sewing quilt blocks!  I'm up to 35.  It's a slow process and some of my blocks are a little wonky?!?  The next section of blocks is triangles.  So that part will go slow too.  I keep plugging away!  Last weekend bought myself some solid blues, washed and ironed them and that helps break up the oh' so many different patterns.

It'll be fun to see when all the different shapes of blocks come together and I have a feeling there will be a few blocks that are my own design.

Life continues on

We've been back in Nebraska for about 6 weeks!  It was nice not to have set up anything.  I started with an on-line lesson with Henrick Drescher, hosted by Carla Sonheim.  The class was amazing and very freeing and I will use some of the techniques I learned in the future.  I posted many pics on both my Instagram and FB page.

This was one of those classes, that keeps you inspired for a long time.  I need to figure out how to make some prints from some of my spreads.  I currently have three books in the works.

This week I started a quilt project.  Before we left Tucson I pulled a bunch of blue material together.  I'm using that to make a quilt.  The squares are 6.5" X 6.5" and I'm using Tula Pinks book called 100 Modern Quilt blocks.  My plan is to make each one.

I'm not making any promises.  So we shall see.  Picture  below:
Ok, that's it for today.  Hope everyone is well!

New Adventures

I'm still here! Middle of January we headed to AZ for our winter retreat.  Our belonging had been in storage for 6 months.  Lot's of work to get everything un-packed.  I'm still looking for things.  Can't remember if I got rid of them or if I stuck them in with something else.

A few weeks ago I signed up for an on-line class called "Sketch-booking with Lewis Rossignol".  I've been learning lots and it has gotten me back in the groove of being creative.  Here are a couple of pics of what I have been up to.

I have also finally finished the binding on my quilt I started in Omaha.

We're enjoying our new home and all it has to offer.  Especially all the wild life.  So far we've seen many Javellina's, Bobcat, Desert Deer, Black tailed Jack Rabbit and a couple Coyotes.

Little Miss Sawtooth Quilt

About three weeks ago I started on "Little Miss Sawtooth Quilt".  Excited to have a project to work on in my little studio.  I bought the pattern from Southern Charm Quilts along with a bundle of fat quarters.  Long story short a quilter, I am not!!

But that has never stopped me from anything.  Each day I tried to make one or two star block.

Yesterday I finally sewed all the parts together.  I'm very please with the outcome and can't wait to see what it looks like quilted.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year!

It's been much too long since I've blogged...........I must remind myself to do better.  It's a new year and creativity comes from many places and in many forms.  During the Holidays I got my modern quilt back from being quilted, that I'm now in the process of binding. Half way done!

Made a few beaded Bracelets and today spent a little time working on my Troll.  Which has been sitting patiently on the shelf above me.  Then it'll be time to get busy and start writing the instructions for Stanley for my upcoming class in Columbus OH.

Yeah!!!

Working on two projects

Today I started the day working on a quilt block.  One done and only 24 like this one to go.

That was this morning.........this afternoon I've been working on my newest Troll.  I'm excited she's beginning to speak to me.  Oh' now you'll just have to wait and see.

Road to California Quilt show ~ 2012

Yesterday I went to the Road to California Quilt show in Ontario CA. It was another great show. So many wonderful quilts, great vendors and of course lots of new ideas rolling around in my head. I didn't take as many photo's as I have in previous years. There was one booth that really captured me though and that is where I took most of my pics. Susan Else was one of the featured Artists, that totally stopped me in my tracks.

So I uploaded them to share with you. Hope this works?!?  Click on the above picture for more pics!

Road To California Quilt Show

Yesterday I went to "The Road to California" Quilt show.  This place is so big that you could probably go two or three times and still not see everything.   Oh' and take money cause there is lots of cool stuff to buy.

It was a great day and I came home all inspired!  I have uploaded some pictures, there are a few that are corrupted, I think my computer driver needs to be replaced.  But this is to give you a little idea.  I didn't take pictures of all the vendors that were there. ;-)

Enjoy!

The Quilt top is finished

And all though I don't consider my self a quilter, I do feel a great sense of accomplishment with this quilt.  It was a good design and easy to put together.  Well for the most part. LOL  It's not perfect and not all the seams match perfectly, but it brings a smile to my face.

And I know it will bring a smile to my daughters face.

Christmas Quilt

Today I finished this little quilt, for someone special. I can't say who....just in case. I had fun doing it. So I thought I'd share.
