April already

Seems like the days are flying by and no matter what happens around us.  Life just keeps moving forward.  Last week I worked on this wood board.  Scribbled on my flowers using a ball point pen.  Then filled in the spaces with Acrylic paint.  To finish it off I used colored pencils and Posca Paint markers.

Painted Garden Pole

So I took a little break from the quilt blocks!  Been seeing these cool garden poles on Pinterest.  So for those of you who know me.  I will at least any once, maybe twice.

Went out and purchased a 6" X 6" X 8' post. Primed it and sketched on the design.  Not realizing how big of a project this actually was.  But no matter, when I start something I most always finish it.  Worked on it every day for the last 1 1/2 weeks.  Loving how it came together and how fun it looks.

Today I applied my first coat of sealer.  I imagine that will take a couple of days.  I want to do two coats and will need to make sure each coat is good and dry. Pics below show the process.  After I get it in the ground I will post another pic. ;P

Finished my flower painting class

I can only stress, if you ever get a chance to take a class from Lynn Whipple.....do it!  I had so much fun learning to be more free and loose with my painting skill.  I have just finished the fourth floral painting.   It measures 50" X 40" .  It's big!!!!  And you would think going bigger is easier.  Hmmmm not so much.

But I'm totally in love with by new Big Bold Wild Flower painting.

Flower Painting

Second Canvas, third layer and I'm loving this one.  Actually I love the entire process so far.  Can't wait to see what happens next.  But first I must finish my third canvas.
