Alice in Wonderland Characters

Here's my gang that is going to ODACA this year!  They were a lot of fun to make.  Maybe someday I'll get on the ball and make the whole Tea Party. LOL  Or not!  Time for some more Trolls.

I've been experimenting with some Eco dyeing, so I'm anxious to use some of the fabrics from that.  But first Washington DC.  Hope to see you there.  Oh' did I mention these will be for sale. :)

Please welcome Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum

Voila!  I can't even express how very pleased I am right now.  I stayed focused and got them done.  Although they are not identical twins, they are very close.  It was another fun way to push myself into creating something that I may not have otherwise.  These two will go to Washington DC next week for ODACA Day.

I hope I see you there!

These two measure approximately 8.5" tall.  Made of 100% polyester, needle sculpted faces, opposable thumbs.  Pants are made from vintage Kimono scraps.  Shoes are from a black T-shirt, that was painted with Sobo glue for stiffness.  The hats are the lids from vintage metal film canisters.

Almost done

Ok, so I don't want to jinx myself but these two have co-operated all the way thru.  I'm really happy with how they are turning out.
Of course I've been trying real hard to stay on task this week.  Which when it's hot out is very hard to do.
Yesterday I picked the fabrics for the clothing.  I think I must have smiled all day long.
Late yesterday afternoon I called it a day and a good day it was.  So today the plan is to finish these two.  I'm totally in love with them and can't wait to share them at the next ODACA day in Washington, DC.

The Tweedles

Today's update!  It's not impossible to make two dolls look alike, but it's not as easy as it seems.  And although these two are not identical twins, they are twins.  Time for a little break.  My hands and fingers hurt!

That won't stop  me to think about the costuming and then digging thru my stash to find just the perfect thing.  Stay tuned!
