Fairy Forrest Troll

The sketch has been waiting for a while.  Yesterday I finally got going.  Not sure why I gravitated to the green, but I know better then to argue with my instincts.  So far I'm loving how this is going.  I'm trying some new eyes, just hope that I can get the other eye in as nicely as this one.  That is always a challenge.

Pushing my self to step out of my comfort zone.

I'm always excited to see a new troll born. Can you give a tip or two on how to do those eyes?

Carol, I'd love to tell you how.....but I have not perfected this method yet. I basically put a small slit where the eye will be inserted. It's very scary, especially when you really love the head. Then I actually take a scrap piece of the suede fabric and do the same, to give the look of having and eyelid. Tuck everything neatly into the slit on the face. Adjust the eye and those things move. And then I put just a tiny bit of glue to hold the eye in place. Gllue is very tricky too, cause you don't want to get in on the skin. Good luck!

Thank you Ute. I keep going back to see these EYES. This last time, I thought I had it figured out, but nope, that's not how you did it, lol. Thanks again. I'll give it a shot.

Fascinated seeing a drawing and watching a troll emerging. Love the eye..Different and seem right for a forest troll. In awe of what you do. I have been needle sculpting a troll from one of your patterns and am struggling with the eyes. My hands hurt too. However..give up is not in my dictionary but perseverance is and I will master them.
