Upcycled an old canvas

Bought this huge old painting at a garage sale.  I wanted a canvas that I could repurpose.   Should have been an easy thing to do. Well, this canvas had a lot of texture on it, that I could not get off.  So I took out all one thousand staples and flipped it over and re stapled it and painted it with some left over house hold paint.  Painted it .........wasn't happy with it and just kept painting.  Waited a few days before touched it again and Voila. It is now the new addition in the guest bedroom.

Very nice! Tell me, what did you use to remove the staples with? I end up scraping my hand and arm on those darn things as they are on so tight.

I took a small screw driver and went under the canvas and that worked very nicely. It pushed them up far enough so I could use the needle nose pliers to pull them out.

Thanks! I will give that a try.
