Mixed Media Fantasy Illustration

I took a Mixed Media Fantasy Illustration class with Christina Romeo last month.  Now I can't stop making these fun little creatures.  Using watercolor, Micron pens, collage papers and my imagination.

 

The year is coming to an end

What a year it was!  Things I took for granted, that may never be?!?  And so we end the year with lots of uncertainties.  I went thru some of my pics of Art that I created throughout the year and thought it would be fun to post them.  

It's always fun to look back and see what I've accomplished.  This of course is not everything.  I picked out one pic per month.  And for some odd reason when uploading the pics they went out of order, but that is OK!

This keeps me motivated and I'm looking forward to the New Year and new Art.  Stay well everyone!

Taking an on-line class

This week was spent taking an on-line class with Carla Sonheim, entitled "A Special 10-Year Anniversary Class".  Probably the best part so far was the first prompt.  Take 12 small pieces of paper, go to bed, put a pillow on your lap and draw Lions using a ball point pen.

Next take one of those drawings and do some blind drawing onto 5 X 7 watercolor paper.  And it just kept getting better.  I love how the simplest of things are some times the most rewarding.  Here are a view of my favorite pieces.

Now I must go watch the next lesson.

Good distractions happen

Been a little distracted with these "Quirky Birds" lately!  Every time I think I'm done, here comes another one.

Took a little break from needle sculpting today

Been messing around with these Quirky Birds for the past week.  Ok, so I should first tell you that I have been taking an on-line course called Life Books 2016 .  It started in January and each week you get a new lesson.

It's been a great experience and it has made me try some new things and really and I mean really step out of my comfort zone.  And every ones in a while a project just latches on like this one has.

These are postcard size and I have sent several of them out as little mail surprises.  I'm having fun creating this little critters and it's a fun project I can squeeze in here and there.


Maybe tomorrow........back to Caterpillar business.
