April already

 

Seems like the days are flying by and no matter what happens around us.  Life just keeps moving forward.  Last week I worked on this wood board.  Scribbled on my flowers using a ball point pen.  Then filled in the spaces with Acrylic paint.  To finish it off I used colored pencils and Posca Paint markers.

Time for a little update

 Wow, I can't believe that I haven't blogged since January.  Yes, I've been busy having fun and enjoying life to the fullest.  At the end of January I took a trip to Oaxaca Mexico.  Hung out with Tres Amiga's and eight other fabulous women and we played, shopped and ate.

Then I started painting a 6' X 4' Canvas that had been sitting in my garage for a while.  Long story short...........I don't know what I was thinking?!?  I had no plan, I'm just gonna put some color on it. LOL

I'm still working on this big ass canvas, but I can see the end. Here are some pics.  I'm not sure how to get them in chronological order?!?  

Finished my flower painting class

I can only stress, if you ever get a chance to take a class from Lynn Whipple.....do it!  I had so much fun learning to be more free and loose with my painting skill.  I have just finished the fourth floral painting.   It measures 50" X 40" .  It's big!!!!  And you would think going bigger is easier.  Hmmmm not so much. 

But I'm totally in love with by new Big Bold Wild Flower painting.

Flower Painting

Second Canvas, third layer and I'm loving this one.  Actually I love the entire process so far.  Can't wait to see what happens next.  But first I must finish my third canvas.

Doing some painting

Well, I have decided to do an on-line class with Lynn Whipple, called "Big Bold Bloom Wild Painting".  It's a five week class with two lessons a week.  

Lesson one, we did timed drawings.  Then cut them out and made this wonderful arrangement of paper flowers.

Lesson two, we grounded our canvases.  Giving each a different color.  Gesso, orange and grey.

 Then, we used chalk and Charcoal stick and painted our flowers.  Turned the canvas three times.

Lesson 3, we filled in the shapes with flat household paint.  I loved this process.

I would be totally happy to leave them like this, but Lynn said not to get too attached. Oh' boy!  This is a layer of many layers.

We're now doing Lesson 4.  Here's my progress so far.  Kinda freaking out a bit.  We shall see where it goes.  This is my flower sketch.  And my sorta loosly painted flowers and drips.
